O Chum 2 Hydropower Dam is located on O Chum River, in Banlung, Ratanakiri Province, Cambodia with an installed capacity , annually. Seasonal storage hydropower, head , height , length , active storage , catchment area However, in Ratanakiri, local people are apparently facing serious problem related to change of quality of water in the Se San river and it was reported that the quality of water has deteriorated greatly since 1996 (Fishery office & NTFP, 2000). Residents in Ratanakiri have a poor access to electricity. Only 3,529 households out of 27,396 total households in the province can access to electricity- a percentage access of 12.8%. Only residents in the 3 towns (Banlung, Lumphat, and Veun Sai) can have electricity. O Chum 2, commissioned in 1993, is a 1 MW mini-hydropower plant located in the north-east of Ratanakiri province.
